This
Client Planning Guide details the steps
required when planning for custom web site development
and creation of a professional web site for your
company or organization. It covers everything
from initial planning to final publication on
the Internet. The Planning Guide will help
you gain clarity on your project regardless of
who develops your Web site. You
may print the guide from your browser, download the MS Word document or call
our offices at 407-391-9851 and request a hard
bound copy. Keep the guide as a handy reference
when working on or discussing your web site project
with our staff!
Your Web Site!
An Internet web site has become one of the primary
mediums companies use to effectively communicate
their products and services to a national and
global audience. Consumers are using the World
Wide Web at an exponential rate to evaluate and
compare what a company has to offer them. Often
the Internet is the first place a potential client
will go to get your company's first impression,
and a well-organized and informative web site
is a necessity to compete in today's business
world. Possibly the most important aspect of having
a web site is the economic gain. Print and television
advertising is expensive, time-consuming, and
extremely limiting. A web site allows you to reach
a worldwide audience with no limit to the amount
of information you can display! Educate your potential
clients before they even lift a finger to contact
you, and think of the time and money you will
save in customer support and customer service! CompBiz, Inc.

I. Project Questionnaire
For easier viewing, the Project
Questionnaire is located on a separate web
page. You may complete the questionnaire online
(our preference and quickest) and submit, or you
may print directly from your browser and complete
the form off-line and then fax/mail to our offices,
or you may download the guide.
Our phone number is 407-391-9851.
Our fax number is 407-571-0731.
Our mailing address is: CompBiz, Inc., 108 Chapman Ave, Sanford, FL 32771.
II. Tele-Consulting Meeting
Our First Meeting!
During our first meeting (via telephone conference),
you will meet with a CompBiz staff member(s) regarding
your project. During this meeting, we will review
the Client Planning Guide and other information
related to your web site project. This is a question,
answer, and information gathering meeting to ensure
CompBiz and your organization are on the "same
page!" Following this meeting, we will provide
you with a price to complete your project. If
acceptable, we will prepare a Web
Site Development Agreement (see below) and
schedule another meeting either in our offices,
your office, or via telephone for the purposes
of 1) reviewing the Agreement and obtaining authorized
signatures, and 2) conducting a "Storyboard
Meeting" (see below) for your web site
project.
Some items reviewed during the Consultation Meeting include the following: Domain Name Registration?
If you do not own a domain name (.com, .net, .org),
CompBiz will help you secure one. If you already
own a domain name, then we will obtain information
necessary to make a transfer to our servers should
we provide hosting service. You will want to make
a decision regarding your domain name as soon
as possible because the availability of domain
names diminishes daily. Static or Dynamic Web Site?
You will want to determine if your web site will
be static or dynamic. By "static", we mean a web
site that is strictly informative and unidirectional.
A "dynamic" web site integrates real exchange
of data between the visitors on your site and
your organization. This could be in the form of
e-commerce or a custom written database application
that allows your visitors/customers access to
real-time data over the Web. Examples of dynamic
web sites include those listed on the EZWEBonline.com
"Communities" page. Other examples of
dynamic Web sites developed by CompBiz, Inc. are
listed below:
We
have developed hundreds of web sites. For an up-to-date
listing of sites developed by CompBiz, Inc., please
contact us at 407-391-9851 or e-mail
info@compbiz.net.
III. Sample Agreement
For easier viewing, the Sample
Agreement is located on a separate web page.
View the Agreement
in a separate browser window, by clicking here!
IV. Storyboard / Client Tasks
Our Second Meeting!
During our second meeting (scheduled at your office,
our office, or via telephone conference), you
will meet with a CompBiz staff member(s) for three
purposes. 1) Review your Web Site Development
Agreement and obtain authorized signatures, 2)
conduct a "Storyboarding" of your project,
and 3) create a "Client Tasks" list
of items needed by CompBiz to complete your project.
The layout, appearance, and functionality of your
web site will be created utilizing special templates
similar to the example shown below.
Our Third Meeting!
Upon completion of your project, you will be contacted
via telephone and/or e-mail (your preference)
and asked to review and test your web site via
a special URL (domain address). Following your
review, you will be asked to contact the CompBiz
staff member assigned to your project (by telephone
and/or e-mail). At this time, our staff will answer
questions, discuss changes, etc. regarding your
project. If changes or revisions are scheduled,
then this process will be repeated. When all work
is satisfactory and following receipt of final
payment for the development of your project, your
web site will be published at your web address
(URL).

Search Engine Coding and Registration
Dealing with search engines can be an overwhelming
and frustrating task. There are hundreds on the
Internet and the number increases with the passing
of each month. You want people to find your web
site quickly and easily, but how is it done? For
best results, web sites and their accompanying
pages should be specially coded and registered
with each engine separately. This process varies
in degree and expense. There are several companies
that offer Free search engine submission, however
the old saying, "You get what you pay for.." applies,
and these Free services can actually hinder your
ranking.
Any given keyword or combination of keywords can return
thousands upon thousands of results in a search
engine. It is extremely disappointing when a customer
realizes their web site did not get listed, or
their web site is number 60,563 buried deep in
the search results. Even more disappointing is
when a specific search is performed using the
company's name, and the web site is nowhere near
the top of the list! Why does this occur? There are several reasons: Competition:
Your company's name and content may be similar
to many other companies across the globe. Timing:
Often you will be sitting behind every other submission
that has been entered before yours. Size: The
larger (and coincidentally the more popular) the
search engine, the higher number of search results
to compete with. Methodology:
Some webmasters have developed techniques that
"trick" the search engines, causing their web
site to appear on top every time. This is usually
limited to a short time frame and we advise against
this methodology, because the search engine companies are aware
of this behavior, and usually remove those web
sites for good upon discovery. Expense:
Some companies specialize in placing your company's
name at the top of the list of major search engines
through a variety of extensive coding techniques.
This can be an expensive process. Prices range
as high as $3000 monthly and this price usually
does not include the initial setup and coding
fee!
If ordered during the original development of your
site, CompBiz can provide an economical and special
search engine service that registers your web
site with up to 10 major search engines like Hot
Bot, Yahoo, Alta Vista, Lycos, Snap, Netscape,
Webcrawler, GoTo, and Infoseek. This service is
manually performed by our developers and includes
inserting special hidden "search engine friendly
code" that is recommended by the major search
engine companies. You may substitute other search
engines of your preference or if you desire more
than the basic ten and advanced search engine
coding, request a separate quote. CompBiz cannot
guarantee that this basic service will get your
company's web site to be number one in every search
engine. However, our methods have proven effective
over time and our customers report positive results.
If your budget permits, we can also refer you
to several companies that specialize in advanced
Search Engine Coding Registration and guarantee
top ranking.
